In Hive you try to completely surround your opponent's queen bee using insect pieces that each move in their own way. The ant crawls anywhere around the hive, the beetle climbs on top of pieces, and the grasshopper leaps in a straight line over occupied spaces. Each turn you place a new piece or move an existing one. The sturdy pieces come in a cloth bag so you can take Hive anywhere. For 2 players, about 30 minutes.
